Following the Animas.... To CrossFit Durango!

Woke up this morning to this view out the front of my motel room.

And this is the view on the other side...

Rode my bike into town.... here's the view from the north end of Main Ave looking south...

The Animas River runs right through the middle of Durango and there's a nice hike and bikeway that follows the river from one end of the city to the other.

My motel room is about 2 miles north of downtown and CrossFit Durango is on the far south end of town.

Nice WOD today with heavy below parallel squats with a 3 second pause at the bottom.... I got to 245...

And then 5 rounds of Single Arm KB Russian Swings followed by 5 Wall Walks and 10 Cartwheels....

Cartwheels?  I haven't done cartwheels on purpose in 40 years.....

Oh well....

So this 52 year old man ended up doing 50 cartwheels.

That's why I love CrossFit.....every day is different.

Good instructor.... Good Workout Partners....

I enjoyed the workout.

I bought a Colossal Roasted Chicken at the City Market yesterday and have been eating on it for the last 3 meals.

Nice Baby Spring Mix with tomatoes, carrot sticks, radishes, boiled eggs and a half of one of the chicken breast with plenty of Balsamic and EVOO for dressing and a liberal dusting of salt, pepper and Trader Joe's 21 Spice Salute.

It's difficult being a transient.... never knowing where you're gonna live and what the new place is gonna be like.

But it forces you to adapt, to be flexible, to think and act fast and it makes you appreciate what you have.

And it's the simple things like a warm bed, a good night's sleep, a hot cup of coffee in the morning, a long bike ride along a mountain river, a hard workout and a great bowl of food.....

These are the things that make a great day for me....

Here's hoping you find the simple peace you deserve.
