This is Heavy Day so that means....

Heavy Weight...

Bout to knock out 6 reps with 275 on Deadlifts.....

And Heavy Metal....

Been trying to bring my Calves up....

With the rest of my body, so after warmup and abs, I start on the hack squat machine....


And start working my way up from 125 to 175.

I do extra sets on just my left calf with 37.5, 25 and 15 to try to bring up the strength on it.

My left knee is the one I had the ACL reconstruction on and there's quite a bit of degenerative arthritis in it so I'm continuously trying to find ways to work it without causing more damage.

This is one way that works for me.

At the gym....alone...

I'd like to get up and have a cup of coffee with someone who loves me...

One Bad Bitch...

Watched UFC last night on PPV. I usually don't pony up the $50+ for these PPV events, but must say if Ronda Rousey is fighting, I'm in. Been a believer even before she coached on Ultimate Fighter and even more so after that.

Ever since women started fighting in the UFC, I think the women are much better fighters than the men. The women fights have much better action and they show much better technical expertise than the men....

And the most important part, they're not afraid to throw down. The majority of the men's fights I watch now look like 2 guys who are afraid to get hurt. They dance around and head fake and do whatever it takes to not lose.

The women across the board just get in there and try to kill each other.

When the RR-SM fight started and Sarah McMann landed a couple of hard shots to Ronda's head, I thought "Oh Boy, Ronda ain't gonna be so pretty in about 3 rounds".
But true to her nature, she quickly adapted from stand-up to her Judo - Throw stance. Sarah dropped her hips so that didn't work.

Pow - Ronda changed instantly to the clinch and started throwing knees to the liver a la Bas Rutten. 1-2-3 and all the muscle on Sarah McMann didn't
protect her liver from the 3rd knee.

Impressive.

Already tell you....I'm in for the next RR PPV.

Fixed a pot of chili on Sunday...


And my daughter and I already ate it.

So I decided to do Round 2...
Started out with a sweet onion, poblano pepper, jalapeƱo pepper. Followed with some Holmes pork and venison sausage and Jimmy Dean hot pork sausage followed by 2 yellow squash and a zucchini.

Added garlic, mushrooms and a can of diced tomatoes, tomato sauce and a small can of chili peppers and 2 teaspoons of brown sugar...

Served over Uncle Ben's Spanish Rice with a fresh green onion and a glass of Merlot.

Beat that Top Chef!!

So.... What's the plan Wills??



Sell this puppy....

Sell everything else that's not essential to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness....

Put everything that won't fit in my truck in a storage facility...

Load everything else in the Big Red Machine...

And hit the road.

I'm gonna spend 4 - 6 months driving to several specific spots in the US, stay there a week or 2, then move to the next place.

Then pick my favorite location and live there awhile.

Top 5 locations on my radar:

1. Northern New Mexico in the Enchanted Circle area around Taos or Red River.

2. Somewhere west of Denver.

3. Bozeman MT

4. North of the Grand Canyon in northern Arizona or southern Utah.

5. 50 - 75 miles north or south of San Francisco.... Anywhere from Santa Rosa to Monterey Bay.

Kind of a random plan....

But then I'm kind of a random guy....

Gotta get all my ines in....

Already had my nicotine and caffeine....
Now Creatine and Protein!

Feeling like I'm in a Downward Spiral...

Strength increases at any age....

Talked to this older lady this morning in my Body Pump class. Noticed during the biceps track (which is like 5 mins long and 120 reps) that she was gritting her teeth on every rep obviously putting out a max effort. I'm guessing this lady is in her mid 60s. She is thin and her arms were showing real muscle and definition even veins during the biceps curls. When we got done with the set I walked over and complemented her and said "Geez Mary... You're putting on some muscle there. You look great." And she said "You know.... I wouldn't have believed I could get stronger at my age... But I am". I put my hands together and bowed to her and said "I'm impressed. Rock on Mary".

The Human Body will adapt and become stronger at any age if you put in the work.

I see it everyday.
