Ziplining with Lake Travis Zipline Adventures

So  here's a collage of pics and a couple of links to standard resolution videos of our Ziplining Day with Lake Travis Zipline Adventures.

After registration, we took a van to the beginning....

After driving through where Lake Travis waters used to be....

Yes - the lake is that low.

Our guide - Parker - gave us a brief history of the property and the inhabitants before us.... the oldest of which were 4 different tribes of Indians - and no, this is not an Indian totem pole... just a conversation piece, but we were urged to rub the chief's nose on the bottom to give us good luck.

The Ziplining Dynamic Duo.

And a couple of pics of my wife who set this little adventure up...

View of the countryside below.

One of the first launch platforms.

And the 2nd one...

Getting some more instructions from Parker.

And the other instructor - Critter.

You can see how low the lake was in the background.

I don't know what was up with my helmet other than my big head....

A selfie and wifie with a piece of Mr. Hand.

Hook 'em up!

Another landing..... Another Zip - 6 total

Took about 3 hours and be prepared to hike a bit..... all uphill.

One of the long zip lines...

1800' to be exact...

And the last one.... a double zip -

2800' - longest in the state of Texas;
3rd longest in the United States;
9th longest in the World!!

Where you race your partner to the bottom.

The final hook up.

Video of 2nd Zip - sorry had to upload at standard resolution from the Hotel Wi-Fi... will try to get the hi-res version uploaded when I get back home.

Video of last Double Zip line - My wife and I didn't make it all the way to the landing for some reason - the guides said a gust of wind must have caught us - I think that's bullshit - but anyway we got towed into the landing as you'll see!!!

All I can say is that it was a blast and despite the inherent dangers involved in this sort of activity, I literally was never scared or apprehensive at all, no doubt due to the quality of the launch and landing platforms and personal harnesses and safety equipment used and the skill, instruction and professionalism of our 2 guides - Parker and Critter.

This is a Top Shelf outfit and for $98 a person for 3 hours of fun, I think it's a Great Deal and...

A Great Discovery!!!
