View of Sumner Lake through my shelter #11

Man - did I hit the jackpot! I talked w/ Ranger Raymond @ Park HQ & he suggested this site. Besides the 2 camp hosts, I'm the only one camping in the park! Ranger Raymond spent 20 minutes w/ me answering all my questions. There's a 4-mile trail that skirts the other side of the lake so I'll hit it 1st thing in the morning. He says the mule deer & turkey come through the camp sites everyday - basically this park is full of wildlife - lucky I bought a set of 12x25 compact binos @ Big 5. Ranger Raymond also told me that the Ranch Road 203 that I came in on continues on through to Santa Rosa so when I leave I can take that road straight to Santa Rosa SP - saves me about 10 miles! He even gave me a detailed road map of New Mexico. Thanks to Ranger Raymond for setting me up for a wonderful stay here @ Sumner Lake SP... oh and it only gets better - read the next post!
