Altered State 4

Today as I was standing 2' from the edge of a 500' cliff and looking over a windblown valley wrapped in a rainbow above and a glistening river below I realized I had changed... this is what I am and who I am... I don't know what that means but it is... in my mad dash on a bicycle across Texas and half of New Mexico I had lost control... and gained control... control of my body... my mind...self control....and I had gained respect... respect for this land - the people in it... and for myself... yeah... self respect... something else that had been missing for a long time. Tomorrow I make the final ride of this leg to Santa Fe... I'll be lighter... in bodyweight... and in baggage - I'll mail some things forward to SF... but I'll be carrying some other stuff I didn't have when I started this little ride... I don't know what happens after Santa Fe... I'm kinda looking forward to finding out....
..one thing's for sure... whatever the future holds... I'm ready for it....see you in Santa Fe!
