No pic for this one just a description....
First of all, the margaritas were first class... the waitress recommended the house tequila over Cuervo Gold if that tells you anything.
Then we ordered and ate...
My wife had the green chile stew... it was noted on the menu as "the best green chile stew you ever had".... and it was... rich broth thick enough not to be broth but thin enough not to be stew where every dip of the spoon was filled with long strips of green chiles and chunks of pork and seasoned so perfectly that every spoonful was a sensation to the palette.
... and me I had the blue corn enchiladas with carne asovardo (pork marinated in a red chile sauce).... I have to say I've eaten a lot of enchiladas in my time and these were the best enchiladas I've ever had.
This place is a Santa Fe landmark since 1952 so it's stood the test of time.... and for good reason.... Maria's is New Mexican cuisine at its finest:
