- Moderate rate
- Consistently nice rooms
- Location - it was closer to the restaurant and to the road to Santa Rosa State Park
- Hi speed Internet - based on my experience in Ft Sumner, this was a big plus.
- Good Continental breakfast.
- Washer / Dryer facilities.
I go into detail on this little chronology to illustrate a point - I was able to do all this stuff - bam bam bam - in a short period of time because it was all here at the motel.... if even one of those things were missing, it would cause me a logistical side step.... an hour here.... an hour there....see the point.
I'm willing to pay a few dollars more (sounds like a Clint Eastwood Spaghetti Western) - hey Ray do you have that one? - to get all that stuff in one pile rather than try to search around for another motel at a slightly cheaper price.
Then after all this I go down to the desk and talk to Della - she checked me in last night - works like 12 hour shifts....
I introduce myself, tell her what I'm doing, give her my card and explain that the State Parks are closed for the next 2 days for budget cuts (errrrrr - I'm still fuming about that!) and I'd like to lay over in this Super 8 for 2 more days but I try to keep my motel rates at $50 or less (AAA reduced rate for this room was $64 + tax about $68 total).
Della gets on the computer, punches some stuff in and says.... yeah I can do $49.95 / night plus tax.
Wow - what a nice lady and a fully equipped customer - oriented motel.
So once again, thanks Santa Rosa Super 8!
