Camp Pendleton is closed for Marine maneuvers...

So I'm having to take the freeway...

Had to backtrack a couple of miles to get on the freeway. 

So that adds a few miles to what will be a long day anyway. 

Normally, the freeway is prohibited for bicycles but they've black-taped over the "Bicycles" on the sign so I guess I'm good to go. 

The freeway is faster anyway. Less steep grades, my own lane and I got a tailwind. 

I knew this would be a challenging day...

But never fear Anonymous, I'll be in San Diego today.....
