Thomas Kennedy - a Man of Thought, Mystery and Peace

I wanted to follow up on a gentleman I met while I was in the Lake Mineral Wells State Park bathroom yesterday morning doing that Day Routine Step 4 thing.... that's right I began my conversation with Thomas Kennedy while sitting on the throne....

It's always been a kind of Metaphysical place for me..... I've gotten my best ideas and solved the most problems while just sitting and thinking and.... well you know...

So's anyway - Tom comes in the bathroom and starts talking to me - I figure anybody who'll have a conversation with someone unseen while they're sitting on the crapper is alright by me.... so I talk back...

....actually mainly I listen because this guy captured my attention right off. I got to get done and get a look at this guy.

Well - first off I finally realized (like I said in my earlier post) there has to be something in the water here in Mineral Wells.... you know I'm thinking Ponce de Leon was off by about 10 states and 1500 miles....

....cause this guy, this Tom Kennedy has a mature look about his face (I'm figuring 50) but he's got like the body of a 25-year old.... I mean it wasn't like he was standing there in a set of Speedos or anything.... it was 28 deg outside and he was clothed accordingly.... but you can just tell when you look at someone, they're in shape..... this guy looked like he could've run a rabbit down uphill!

So Tom says he's writing a book..... I'm all ears.... by this time I've fumbled around and got my little pocket notebook and pen out and I'm taking notes..... I mean I'm really taking notes.

Theme of the Book Tom says:

What We Are Not Defines Who We Really Are

Holy Smoley, I've hit the jackpot, this guy has got me on a string.... this is right up my alley!

.... and over the course of the next half hour Tom Kennedy opens up his thoughts, his passions, his spirituality and his world to me....

He outlines his book in succint but passionate terms:

There are 8 delusions in society - his book gives examples, behaviors and solutions.... which are religion based....all religions (and this is a key point).

One of the 8 delusions is Money - Tom cites one example of the Delusion of Money by relating the Bible's recording of the times of King Herod - when Jesus chastised the Pharisees..... the whole Salvation for Money thing - it's continued in our time with Casinos and Pyramid Schemes - you give Money in order to get back some fulfillment, some worldly return....you attempt to buy happiness and salvation....

I'm getting goose bumps just writing this - seriously - because I'm been thinking this same thing my whole life.... which is what I tell Tom who responds with a statement of a sub-theme in his book....

Truth comes from Confirmation....

Some people may call it the "A ha!" moment but Tom explains it by saying that we postulate ideas and concepts in our consciousness and they remain there as just an idea or perspective or opinion.....until one day.... you receive some sign of Confirmation and then you respond "I knew that!" You knew it all along, your whole life, but you just reached that point and place in time where thought and idea meet Enlightenment.

Tom continues his book details:

  • Everything is made from very few elements and
  • The Earth is a living organism and we are the Consciousness of that living organism....

We are all One.

Tom referenced John 17:22 several times in our conversation as an inspiration for his philosophy and his book so I went and looked it up:

John 17:22 (New International Version)
I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one.

For many, this Oneness comes from Communal with Nature - I know that's how it is with me.

The conclusion - We are all One - of Tom's book is backed up by research and data tracing the DNA of man back to one female - hmmm.... wonder who that might be....

I could've sat and talked to Thomas Kennedy for hours.... for days.... but I had to go so I'll keep in touch with Tom and eagerly await the publishing of his book.

I told you this guy was special.

When I left the bathroom of the Live Oak Camping Area in Lake Mineral Wells State Park and my conversation with Thomas Kennedy, I did so with a feeling of having been Uplifted, of having gained Spirit and Enlightenment and Energy..... and yes a sense of Confirmation.

I felt like I'd just been plugged into an endless Power Source and my batteries had been charged back up....

I felt like I had made a Connection.... with Nature.... with Tom Kennedy..... with Myself ...

and with the One who made us All One.
