the bad luck continues...

Another flat - the 3rd in 2 days - may be something stuck in the tire or a spoke head exposed - I don't think so. I take my time & check all that each time. I haven't been able to get but about 40# in the tire because I haven't been anywhere that has air - my CO2 tube & hand pump combo will only do about 40 - the lower air press may make the tire more susceptible to puncture. The last tube is a self-sealing tube feeled w/ "goo". I'll keep the tube I take out & try to find the hole & patch it and have it as a spare until I can get somewhere & buy some.... I knew things were going too well.

  1. I'm surprised you don't patch more; should be able to patch a tube several times no problem (as long as you are using the glue patches, not the instant patches--I never have much luck with those longterm). Anyway, surprised you can't get above 40psi. Try one of the Topeak Morph pumps--fantastic! They travel easily but convert into a mini floor pump so easy to work with and get high pressures. The mountain model is rated to 160 psi.

    Good luck!
