More of Brazos Bend State Park

Didn't see that many alligators this time.....

View of the canal at the Spillway Trail and Elm Lake

South side of Elm Lake. Shooting into the sun gives it that glowing look.

BBSP looks different every time I go because much if it is covered in water which varies in depth and coverage with weather and season. This time was no exception and that's why I keep coming back.

Going around Horseshoe lake

On the Big Creek Loop Trail

One of the Old Growth Oak trees

Brazos Bend has Bottomland Hardwoods, Coastal Praire and Wetlands Environments with transitions between all three.

And Lots of Snakes!

But this was a friendly King Snake.

Part of the Oxbow and the wetlands that result.

Another View of Horseshoe Lake on the way out.

Elm Lake and a favorite Black-bellied Tree Duck resting place!
