Put my Thermarest mat down with my El Cheapo 45 degF mummy bag on top of it, anchored the end of the rainfly with 2 tent stakes at the end of my mat / sleeping bag combo and pulled the rainfly over me like a waterproof comforter.
Worked like a charm!
Kept the food and other stuff beside me under a 55 gal drum liner that I have with me for just such a purpose.
Everything worked great until the Crows lined up on the limb above me and started having a Crow Choir practice at 8 am CST. Considering I didn't hit the hat till 3 am CST, that was not appreciated!
I'll deal with them later.
My most immediate problem is how to dry my 2 sets of cycling clothes I washed in the shower with me last night. They're hanging in the tree next to my picnic table. I figured I'd hang dry them in the rain. That oughta work.
I'll get back to you on that.
Meanwhile, it's coffee by the fire as the light rain falls on South Beach State Park.
Think I'll amble down to the beach and see what's happening down there.
Sorry about those pestie crows. As they say on Swamp People, just "shoot um" !! Maybe the coffee will help things. It always helps me.
ReplyDeleteA long december and there's reason to believe maybe this year will be better than the last
