Been talking with my next campsite neighbor...
This soft-spoken Mountain Man looking Surfer is here at Nehalem Bay State Park with his wife and 2 daughters, a 10 year old Newfie that I thought was a bear in the early morning light and a BA 83 BJ-60 and light travel trailer combo.
Is this guy set up or what?
This transplanted Canadian is a dorm supervisor at nearby Langley College and gave me several tips on sites to see along the Oregon Coast.
In addition, we had an interesting conversation along the theme of "The Sense of Entitlement and Arrogance" shown by the current generation which he sees and experiences in his everyday dealings with the throngs of college students at the Langley dorms.
He related an anecdote where a particular student was boasting about having started 2 charities and a website to support them and it was obvious from the circumstances that the Mom & Dad was heavily involved in the effort.
But it was all the student.
Sound familiar to you?
Does to me...
I hear it everyday....
From my own 19 year old "I got this" daughter.
Meeting and talking to Scott and his family on this cool, damp Oregon morning made me realize once again, that it's NOT...
About the miles...
Or the Sunsets...
Or the Trails or Parks or Anything Else....
It's all about the People!
Always the People...
The Greatest Discovery of All!
So exciting meeting people at the campsites you visit. I think that is one of the best things about your discovery is meeting all sort of people out there. I know you are enjoying yourself. Just think about all the stories you will have to tell when you return. Can't wait to hear them. Diana
ReplyDeleteMy buddy sam is at the house this week and they just lost their ten year old Newfoundland to cancer. Bear is understatement
ReplyDeleteI tell good stories.
ReplyDeleteThis is the right climate for Newfies.
