Been sitting here having breakfast... and reading about ...

... the Silver Thread Scenic Byway...aka 149.... quite a history... especially the section going over Slumgullion Pass... won't go into the details... you can read about it in Wikipedia... bottom line is this section of road has been around since the 1870's and it wasn't completely paved till the 1990's... it's one tough section of road!

  1. Hey Breakfast neighbor! I recognize that plate! This is Tracy (And Michael) Green. We were the couple sitting next to you at this cafe! It was awesome meeting you and I am glad to see you conquered your stomach virus and the pass. Good luck with all your travels and stay safe!

  2. Hey Tracy and Michael -
Great to hear from you. Yeah, it turned out I had picked up Giardia from drinking the river water the day before even though I treated it. I visited a clinic in South Fork CO and got some antibiotics for it and got it knocked out.
I'm currently in Saskatoon SK Canada on a work assignment but rented a bicycle and have been touring the town.
Hope we can stay in touch.... talk to yáll later.
