Finishing up the Hiking and Day 5 of the Southeast Texas Loop at Village Creek State Park

Once I entered the Village Slough Trail, I found myself in a world of Pines, Water Oaks, underbrush, sloughs and creeks with obvious signs of the damage Hurricane Rita and Ike had done.

Village Creek State Park has 16 walk-in sites along Village Creek and picnic sites along the waterway and a  Swimming Area.

After a day of bike and hike, there's nothing like a bag of Knorr's Asian Noodles and Vegetables spiked with Jack Link's Flaming Hot Chicken Nuggets and a little Curry Powder and Cayenne.... follow that down with a steaming cup of hot chocolate and 2 hours doing these last 2 posts on the Netbook and I'm ready for the sleeping bag...
