Hitting a Wall at 60 miles so stopped to eat a third trail mix bar.
Heading for Discovery Bay and then Sequim Bay.
At my current avg pace that's another 2 hrs 15 mins.
Endorphins and Enkephalins are kicking in and the pain of pedaling for 8 hours has gone away.
Left behind is a feeling of numbness and emptiness like the road is sucking the life out of you...
Which is what's happening.
This is the feeling I get when my body is eating itself for energy.
Been there before.
This is where we separate the talkers from the walkers.
Let's ride through this battle of mind and body and find out what lays on the other side.
Must have been about the time you called me and we talked. Sure enjoyed the talk, felt like I was enjoying the ride with you while we were talking. Must have been quite a rush going down that hill at 44 mph. Diana
ReplyDeleteYep. 44 is very fast on a loaded bike. Hit 1 pebble or 1 dip in the road and get a wobble out of the front tire and rhey'd be scrapIng me off pavement for 50 yards. But sometimes you just gotta point it downhill and forget you have brakes.
