So many thoughts... So little time.


Waking up this morning like I haven't woken up in a long time....

With 8 hours of sleep under my head!

Man - that sure feels good.

When that happens, my mind just explodes with ideas, concepts and questions....

So here goes.

First of all, gotta Purple theme going already this morning with some incredible music!!


Next up on the Discovery Channel -

A short snippet on Owning Your Decisions and Managing Your Life based on your Choices.

I introduced the whole "Choice is in Your Hands" concept in a post earlier this week.

Here's the Challenge / Takeaway from this line of thinking.

There's too many people out there wearing the "Shit Happens" t-shirt.

99% of shit doesn't just happen.

There are very few true Acts of God.

Most of the bad stuff / negative events that happen to you and in your life is because of Acts of ________ (plug your name in here).

We live in a society and culture that nurtures the whole "Oh you Poor Thing.... It wasn't your fault. These things just happen" mentality.

Bullshit - it probably was your fault.

You chose to drink and drive and got a DWI.

You chose to buy all that shit you didn't need, max'd out your credit card and ruined your credit.

You chose not to pay attention in high school, blew off your parents' attempts to help you with college and now you're 25 and waiting tables.

Yeah - MFer - you did that.

Nobody did that for you or to you.

You earned that little badge of dishonor or medal of "Shit Happens".

So Quit Bitching and Own It.

Say "Yeah - I fucked up... But I ain't gonna do that again".

Change your mind set from one of self pity and entitlement to one of

Free Will, Self-Motivation, Self-Determination and Improvement.

Don't have an education but want one?

Figure out how to do it. Make the effort to go to Brazosport College or your local Community College and sit down with a counselor and work out a program that you can take one step at a time. BC's semester hour rate is roughly 1/5 that of a State University so there's a lot of bang for the buck there.

Make a Plan and Take a Step.

Don't like the way you look? Got low self-esteem?

Quit stuffing your face with shitty food, smoking cigs and hitting every happy hour after work.

Quit spending all your extra cash on getting mani's and pedi's and hairdo's or buying new shit for your truck or that $100 set of sunglasses....

And go buy some decent food and a gym membership or a CrossFit membership and actually Go and Work Out.

You knock out about a dozen WOD's in a row and then tell me about your self-esteem.

You see...

People that Plan, Act and Do don't have time to sit around and...

Let Shit Happen....

They Make Shit Happen.
