As I walk down the Streets of Koblenz
As I walked down the streets one night.
Tomorrow is Labor Day in Germany - a National Holiday so the city is alive with the sound of love and liquor.
Taking it to the Streets.... Taking it to the Streets
What other Traveler gives you Marty Robbins and the Doobie Brothers in one post?
Nuttin but Discovering America on 2 Wheels.
Good Night!

Koblenz... And its Tulips
Everyone that knows me knows I love visual imagery especially photography and there's an old saying in photography -
"The Best Camera is the One you have WITH YOU!"
Most times it's NOT about the camera or the person behind it but rather the subject, object or scene that makes the picture.
I have to say the camera on the iPhone 4S is nothing short of incredible with outstanding clarity and true rendition of color but it is the ability to focus up close that is one aspect that allows it to capture these images of the Tulips of Koblenz - I hope you enjoy the images as much as I have enjoyed taking them.

State of the German Anatomy
Don't need any pics for this one - just listen up.
Let me preface this by saying that I make this statement with utmost respect to all persons addressed... So here goes.
I'm in pretty good shape for an Old Fart but I couldn't take 90% of the guys I've seen and I think 50% of the women could whup my ass!
These are some big, lean, fit and bad ass looking people over here!
Nuff said bout that!

Oh my God! It worked!
My experiment - it worked.
I put socks on with my sandals and not a single person has looked at my feet in 7 hours.
There's a lot if things and unwritten rules I'm learning about living and traveling in Germany and I'll share those with you in a future post... But I have to tell you this is a Cool Discovery!

And the views of the Mosel and Rhine Rivers and all the features of Koblenz were incredible. As I type this I'm charging my phone cause I been burning this thing up but the point is I'm sitting on a terrace of the Festung overlooking Koblenz - here, I'll show you... Here's my view!Am I bad or what?

Festung Ehrenbreitstein
I won't even try to describe this place - it has a history going back 1000s of years.
It is a restored fortress, museum and an amazing wonderland of the history and development of man.
I don't know how much the German government has spent on this National Monument but it was worth it.
Here's a Wikipedia link for more info:
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Festung_Ehrenbreitstein
And here's just a few of the dozens of pics I took - Geez I'm glad I got the 64 GB iPhone 4S cause it's gonna be full by the time I get back. There's a huge section / building showing the history of man in this area from homo erected to Neanderthal to Roman times and the use from the 1600s on...As you can see there is partition after partition each with its own section of time showing the habitat and characteristics of man during that time. The museum was shaped like a horseshoe so there was 2 sides if these sections. Truly amazing and very well organized and beautifully presented.

I don't know how many acres this place covers but it has many levels and sprawls over this plateau overlooking Koblenz.
I'll put some more pics in the next post.Deutsches Eck - German Corner
Where the Mosel and Rhine Rivers meet stands a Monument of German Strength and Unity.
