Fireworks - Beach - I never wanna be like that - a Birthday WOD!

Front and Center at the Brazos Mall for the Lake Jackson Fireworks display!

The Kid is all grown up... probably watched these fireworks with her at least 15 times....

And I have to say.... this was the best of all!

I just can't seem to Tear Away from the Texas Gulf Coast!

Speaking of the Texas Gulf Coast.... there she be!

One thing I don't miss about Texas is the Big Bodies!

Don't know this guy from Adam....

But I did watch his normal sized wife help lift him out of a beach chair several times just so he could stand.

Don't know the situation.... maybe he has medical problems.

Maybe he has the same problem as 80% of the population....

He eats too much.

I was there once.... well not there.... but on my way.

Until I took a stroll down Paleo Lane.

And a Rip through a hundred CrossFit WOD's.

Speaking of WOD's, this was a Will Black Birthday WOD.... with 41 of everything....

I modified the Box Jump to a Box Step Up and Back but Rx'd everything else and came in dead last.

Which was fine by me.... cause I finished.

Hey.... 25 mins 20 seconds of continual intense, lung busting exercise is pretty good.

I sweated my way down to a new recent low in weight of 169.2

That's Beach Body weight.

And this is the most important part.... what you eat.

Spring Mix with carrots and radishes and my sister's home grown tomatoes and an avocado drizzled with balsamic, sprinkled with Salt, Pepper and Kicking Chicken Seasoning, with deboned smoked chicken thigh and leg from my brother in law's grill with Fruit Punch Creatine with a healthy scoop of Chocolate Protein mix.

Gotta make the most out of life no matter where you are and this has been a great return to the Texas Gulf Coast.

I see Heaven when I look in your Pie!

No, I'm not talking about Warrant's Cherry Pie....

And I'm not talking about that kind of Pie....

And I'm really not talking about Pie....

I'm talking about Wild Blackberry Cobbler with Fresh Whipped Cream!

Ok.... maybe I am talking about that kind of pie.

Seriously, I have been eating blackberry cobbler since I was a little kid....

From my Mom's recipe that was passed down to my sisters.

And I have to say my sister, Vicki's version is better than the original.

Yep.... this is my kind of pie.

Well.... this is one of my kinds of pie.

It's my Birthday and I'll workout if I want to and eat what I want to!

Holy Mother of Cobblers Batman!

Yes..... that is Blackberry Cobbler.... with blackberries picked wild from the Texas Gulf Coast!

And a pan of scalloped potatoes on deck ready for the oven.

Under Pressure.... Me?  Naaaa..... like water off a duck's back!

This is more like it....

You can take the boy out of Deep East Texas.....

But you can't take the Deep East Texas out of the Boy!

Return to CrossFit WMD!

That's Janet Black, a Master Women's World CrossFit finalists....

Doing one of her 3 workouts.

This is the place where my CrossFit journey began....

And I've had a few detours in the past year....

But you know the old saying.....

Home is where the heart is....

And my Heart, Blood, Sweat and Tears is at....

CrossFit WMD.

My request for a birthday present from my sister?

Her world famous Butter Baked Chicken....

Sided with those decadent Scalloped Potatoes....

Oven Baked Beans with Bacon....

And a beautiful salad with garden fresh tomatoes....

With a fresh fruit bowl....

And not 1 but 2 pitchers of homemade Sangria made with lemon juice concentrate, fresh squeezed lemon and orange juice and equal parts of brandy and triple sec with tons of slices of fresh fruit.

I could take a bath in this stuff..... Holy Birthday wishes come true!

This is Southern Home Cooking at its best....

And there is no one better at cooking it than my sister....

And no one better at eating it than me!

Happy Birthday America!

And Me!

Knocking the hell out of a day...

Rain Rain Go Away
From Angleton...

And Santa Fe!

Be in your own....

Paging Dr. Hudson....

What's wrong with Willie's knee?

Nothing that a little workout can't fix!

Back to my old lifting grounds.

And speaking of grounds...

This tree was directly across the street from the duplex I lived in...

Meaning the produce section in the new HEB in Lake Jackson is where my house used to be!

Freaky!

No where in Santa Fe can I buy ribeye steak for $3.97 a pound!

Or Ahi tuna for $6 for 12 oz of fillet.

Whoa dude! Why so serious?

Aaaah.... I see.... Cut, Color and Highlight.

Carry on my wayward Old Man.

Back on the Texas Gulf Coast

Well. I made it.

Leaving Lewisville... Heading to Angleton!
