One of the things that has impressed and depressed me on this tour so far is how much logging is being done in Washington.
It's been going on for 170 years and isn't slowing down.
One casualty of this is the Old Growth Forest which has been virtually wiped out except where under the protection of National Parks.
So let me tell you a sad story of 2 trees....
It begins in the Hoh Rain Forest OUTSIDE Olympic National Park...
Yep - Huge Trees ....
Cause all the Old Trees look like this...
Ease on down the road a mile or 3 and enter Olympic National Park....
And find....
Sad but True...
That's the Tale of Two Trees ....
The First -
A Spirit hundreds of Years old felled by a Mindless Society with No Respect for the Gentle Giants put on this Earth by the Master Spirit....
And the Second -
Separated and Protected by the Vision, Forethought and Watchful Diligence of a few and the lines they draw....
Standing in all it's Grandeur....
