Leaving the west end of Lake Crescent

Was running out of gas so stopped here...

On the west end of Lake Crescent. 

And got an awesome handmade ham and cheese sandwich, chips, root beer, Americano coffee and a brownie...

While I was waiting for my food I talked with this beautiful German family who were making a drive from San Francisco to Vancouver. 

I told them about my trip to Germany and the experiences I had there and we were all rolling for 15 mins. 

That's the thing about travel and being away from home. It puts you on common ground with other travelers. 

You can share each other's experiences and sense of adventure even if it's only for a few minutes. 

And now I need to get going. I still have 40 miles and 4 hours of pedaling and will have to stop 1 more time for fuel.
