Getting old enough to have seen it all.... at least 3 times! Blindspot is the Illustrated Man, Le Femme Nikita and the Bourne Identity... ReBourne

There's nothing new under the sun....

History repeats itself....

If your clothes are out of fashion, just maintain your weight and wait....

20 years....

And they'll be back in fashion.

The latest "Fall Hit" as it is being called.... the NBC action - drama series Blindspot illustrates this whole concept perfectly.

I remember being fascinated with the Ray Bradbury book "The Illustrated Man" in my high school required reading.

Several stories in this book has been made into some sort of movie adaptation.

I loved the concept of "the Veldt" where virtual reality becomes reality.

Of "Marionettes Inc." think La Machina, iRobot.... and on and on.

I remember watching the TV series "Le Femme Nikita" in the late 90s and loved the total emotionless banter between the main character, Nikita and her male counterpart, Michael, which of course was an unspoken love story....

The hushed tones, the serious and emotionless plasticity of their faces and the non-stop drama and action of a series set in a theme of a secret counter terrorism group.

Nikita (Peta Wilson) is innocent. She is not a killer, nor a drug user, just a homeless young woman in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Innocent unknown (Good) vs Evil......

Sound familiar?

And then of course, there's the blockbuster series of Jason Bourne books and movie adaptations where a secret government agency wipes out the memories of young men and turns them into assassins without conscience.... which works pretty well until one of the operatives grows a conscience.... and finds himself without an identity but with a lot of kick ass skills that serves to uncover government black op cover-ups.

Don't get me wrong.

I freaking love "Blindspot" - it's genious and very entertaining.

Somebody took "The Illustrated Man", "Le Femme Nikita" and Jason Bourne and put them all together and hit us right where we least expected it....

In our....

BLINDSPOT!
