Exploring Bozeman... Changing Weather... Nappyville.... Ridge Athletic

Not sure why I feel this way....

But kinda feeling like I'm....

Was craving a good ole Bacon and Egg Breakfast so rode down to the Western Cafe and got me one.

Kind of a Winnie the Pooh day to start out with...

This is a trail map of the North side of Bozeman....

Those green shaded areas are parks with the yellow lines representing walk / run / bike trails.

Basically, Bozeman is studded with these all over the city.....

There's probably at least 20 of them.

If you like to get out and get some exercise, these "Green" areas are the ticket.

Went Mexican for lunch and even indulged in some rice and beans with my beef fajitas.

I came out of the Mexican Food Restaurant and got on my bike and was met with a 25 - 35 mph gust of wind right in the face.....

It was the beginning of a wet norther blowing through...

Which ended my biking....

So I windsurfed back to the motel and pulled the covers over my head....

And went to my favorite place lately....

Nappyville!

Got up craving a Workout.....

Had made a run by this place yesterday and checked it out and called them up today to see if  I could do a walk-in.

Stacy gave me a $10 / day rate which is reasonable and a little below average.

It's only a mile from my motel....

And they've got Zumba at 8:30 in the morning.

Holy Dancing  Fever Batman..... I am complete now!

I can do Zumba!

They got everything I need...

Including an ab and stretching area.

And a full complement of free weights and a CrossFit area in the back corner.

So I knocked out a Willie WOD of:
Abs
Calves
Hamstrings
Pullups
Kettlebell swings
Pull Ups
Box Jumps
And what my CrossFit Xpert Serena calls the "Bear" Complex.

First did this with my son, Aaron, as a Hotel WOD while we were staying in Oakland.

It's a 4 exercise 5 rep per exercise repeat for 10 sets:

5 Romanian Deadlifts
5 Clean and Squat
5 Push Presses
5 Front Squats

It's done with dumbbells. Supposedly the Rx is 50# dumbbells.  No way this old man can do that.

So I start with 20# dumbbells and go up 5# each set till I get to 50# and then go down 5# each set.

And yes, Aaron, I wore my shortest shorts, most colorful (red and green skull) socks and my skimpy CrossFit WMD tank.....

So I know you're proud of me.

And once again..... I got a lot of raised eyebrows and side glances.

Hey Bozeman.... That's the way Wills rolls....

So get used to it....

For at least 4 more days anyway.

  1. I remember that workout! And glad you ate rice beans AND hash browns. The day you had would have cost too Much in protein
