From First to Wirst!!!
Yep....
That's my Pride and Joy....
My 2003 Ford F-150 with 107000 miles being hauled away....
Clutch pedal went to the floor yesterday.... Which usually means clutch slave cylinder.
Which is usually relatively inexpensive to replace cause it's usually on the firewall under the hood.
Notice I said usually several times....
Because Ford, in it's infinite wisdom, mounted this model's slave cylinder INSIDE the bell housing of the manual transmission.
Which is highly unusual!!!
WTF?????
So you have to pull the whole transmission just to change out a $100 part.... Which takes about 8-9 hours or $700 in labor to do.
So you might as well change out the clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing aka clutch kit....
Which tacks another $500 of Ford parts onto it.
Priced around and could get it done $300 cheaper but decided to go with the Ford dealer cause it has a 2 year unlimited miles warranty on parts and labor at any Ford dealership.
So $1690 later and I'm
pissed off and no longer a Ford fan.
Go Toyota!!!
