Campfire Chili Part 2
Fire's right so on go all the veggies...
This is about the right height of the fire to grill the veggies without burning them.
With an open campfire, the key is heat and fire height management.
That's why I wear the heavy leather gloves so I can move the firewood around and add wood as needed to keep the fire the way I want it....
Besides....
Who doesn't like to....
Play with Fire!!!
Love Whitey Ford's voice.
Not all the veggies cook at the same rate so you have to watch 'em close and take 'em off as they're done.
Oh man....
Look at the grill marks on the sausage and veggies and just imagine the flavor that pecan wood smoke is putting in every piece.
Once most of the veggies are off, put on the Cast Iron Dutch Oven with just a little Canola Oil in the bottom.
All the grilled vegetables are out and the turkey - veggie mix and the diced carrots and garlic are up to bat.
While the Dutch Oven is getting hot, take the grilled veggies to the cutting board....
Gotta say about now....
It's good to be Me!!!
Part 3 is where it really gets good!!
