I took this picture yesterday as I was walking out to the end of the Surfside jetties and didn't think much of it at the time.
I was looking back at my photos on my flight and this one came up and it hit me how well it captured my Life right now and this Adventure to come.
This path we call Life begins from where we are and disappears into the horizon of our future.
This picture shows one path....
The path you are on now.
But Life gives us Choices...
Forks in the Road....
I call them Critical Junctions.
When I was younger and I reached these Critical Junctions, I didn't realize they were Decision Points in Life where, once a decision was made, there was no going back.
No redo.
I was then faced with the Consequences from the Decision I made and the Path I chose.
I only realized how important it was in retrospect.
As I have gotten older and hopefully wiser, I have become better at recognizing these "Critical Junctions".
I think this Great Adventure - this 2000 mile Bicycle Tour down the Pacific Coast...
Is a Critical Junction.
I have no idea what will happen, of what I will see and experience, of what changes will result....
Who knows - I may get the first verified high resolution video of Bigfoot.
I'll be in the right place for that.
I might discover that Vampires and Werewolves really do exist ... In Forks WA.
I'll be riding through Forks (Hint: Think Twilight) so it can happen.
One thing's for sure....
Every Great Adventure I've done in the last 15 years has brought change.
Change in my Body.
Change in my Perspective.
Change in my Future.
How can it not?
It is the Essence of Adventure and Discovery....
This Time is No Different...
My Path lays before me...
My Future is beyond the Horizon.
