I get to ILSP, check in at the HQ, look at the campsite map and basically there’s not that many people in the park….I see Campsite 333 which is on the west side of the park on the water and is kinda set off by itself….sounds perfect. This ended up being a beautiful campsite on the lake….it sloped off from the road to the lake and the Park Service had built these terraced steps out of hollow cinder block and red cinder gravel. It was like a landscaped back yard at a million dollar lake house…. which brings me to another point…. If you have the money, you can buy land that has water features and pretty views and it’s your own and that’s a good thing…. But if you don’t have the money or just don’t want to own a piece of the rock….. go visit the state and national parks….. they have the most beautiful features and scenery in America – that’s why they are set aside as parks…..and guess what….YOU ALREADY OWN THEM!

In case you haven’t noticed, I love Inks Lake State Park – it is my favorite Texas State Park.
